Hemp Capital of the World?

In a recent article in Forbes, we learned that industrial hemp production in Kentucky doubled from 2017 to 2018. Can this crop replace tobacco, which has a storied history in Kentucky and has always been a high value crop? Signs are positive, and we are shipping our first units to dealers in the area. Much of the hemp is being grown in pilot programs in conjunction with state ag departments and universities. And, no less than Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, is a big proponent pushing the 2018 Hemp Farming Act as part of a new farm bill. Industrial hemp is used as fuel, fiber and a food source, and unlike the other hemp, does not get you high.
